What do you think, should Kasparov have stuck to chess or should he continue with his ambitions of Russian politics?

it's nice to want to do something for your fellow man, but maybe he doesn't realize most people are idiots. I say go back to your chess life.

Kasparov achieved everything possible in chess and was the best player for over 20 years, so he had nothing more to prove to anyone.  I think politics probably provides him with a new outlet for his energies and is obviously something he cares a great deal about.  I wish him all the best.

That's fine that he is into politics, but it bothers me that celebrities, athletes, and professionals think that because they are popular or good at one thing then that makes them qualified to be amazing at something else. We see it in American politics all of the time - stupid actors who get media coverage on their political views. Who cares?!

Well, if you are reffering to people like madonna, then sure, but Reagan was a good president to come out of hollywood, and AHHNOLD isnt too bad either.

Its because they're in the public eye that they can shout about they're cause, knowing that because of that people will listen to them.It gets my back up though when they start preaching to people to dig deep for their charities, etc... and wondering despite their millions, how much they throw in the pot. It's like a quote i heard recently. ' World aid is poor people from rich countries giving money to rich people from poor countries'. And i think that basically sums it up.

Kasparov should have continued playing chess. I think he stepped on a wrong way when he became the leader of "Other Russia", the way that would lead him to nowhere. Financed by Berezovsky this political organization is aiming at removing the current government and president of Russia. What a utopia! Perhaps this gives him more money than playing chess, but then I think he

could have found a more decent way of earning it. He has totally lost my respect after this.

All today's political activity of mr. Kasparov and the like has nothing to do with chess. They are just craving for more power over people and that's it.
