Wow, impressive puzzle and rapid ratings. How long did it take for you to reach 1400 in rapid?

It took me like a year to 2

I’m plateaued at 1600 and am on tilt so don’t overly play

I was drunk the whole time and dabbled then and there online. I’m sufficed with beating 1900 players OTB so 2000 is my wall atm but I am okay with that.

Master your openings principles, chess fundamentals and do shoot for 3,000 puzzles rating and your doing alright.

Ziryab

Just reached 2800 tonight. I have friends who are over 3300.

Around 3000 is pretty high.

How do the puzzles at higher levels work. Is it still the same as lower levels, as in you get it right you gain x points and if you get it wrong you lose x points, or do you start to lose more than you win per puzzle

If you take your time, you get 5 points. The speed bonus  may award you up to 16 points but the execution is the same; sit on your  hands,  visualize and calculate. After about 10,000 attempts, you’ll develop the board vision for both sides, mitigate blunders and have patience.

We can agree tactics flow from superior positions meaning puzzles is not fully chess but one metric of the game.

Is it for real? Can we compare puzzle rating with rapid rating just like that? I don't believe that tbh!

ChessIsXtreme

3000 is good

hrarray
Yeah 3000 is pretty good I’m like 1700 rapid and only 2600 puzzles
MammothCricket

Maybe I do too many puzzles lol

MammothCricket

1900-2000 blitz bullet and rapid and 3470 puzzles with a high of 3500

pot_ate

I just reached 3000 puzzles today which was pretty cool ig.

(Edit: Might as well. I'm 1680 in Rapid, 1400 in Blitz and 1300 in Bullet. I blame my mouse for my lower time controls.)

I've been playing for about 15 months but only started studying seriously like 12 months ago.

(Off topic but there was this one time where I took a ~4 month break and then gained 300 Rapid ELO in 2-3 weeks lol. My ratings might be a bit off since I took a little break for school but I'm getting back into Chess though.)
