What The Most Annoying Playing Style To Play Against?

Just curious of everyone's opinion here:

Which playing styles do you find the most annoying to play against and which openings?

I tend to find tactical and open games less enjoyable, I also seem to irrationally hate anyone that starts a game with f4.

the whole of "style" gets this constant argument - where some people claim there is NO style, or that patzers have no style...

just to let you know.

Personally dislike the situation where; the opponent gets a pawn up (or down) in a very locked position- then initiates a pawn break that violently opens the game- and wins mate or material.

its hard to go from thinking of little subtle pawn moves to bold sacs, and tactics everywhere!

Anyone who argues there no styles must be made of silicon. happy.png

maybe.  there's no argument in my eyes.

I like the slow grinding route to victory.

and the thing is, people often lack patience- and sometime lash out.  so, there are people that find the Slow long game very annoying.

Another 'style" post.

Another "opening" post.

I dont play the "style", i play the position on the board.

It can be annoying playing a smoker that reeks of cigarettes, when they are gasping for air and breathing into your face.

I have a blind rage at the Ruy López, I don't play it with either color. That's the only thing I really hate, in my eyes I seems drawish and lame. I am aware that the Ruy López is completely sound and one of the best openings.

gledz

Gangnam style.

For me,  it's the player who accepts a seek for a 45 45 game,  plays their moves at blitz speed, then yells at me in chat to "hurry up".

Don't start a long game if you don't want to play a long game.   angry.png

hence, a description of a position that is difficult to work with.  or should it be said that I find it difficult to deal with some kinds of plans.

anyways.  style arguments are rerun To deeath.   you get the Mr tactics that insists he's very sharp- and as the argument goes on... people get all worked up.

... btw,  what would gangham style look like?  i seriously think I saw it once!!   a complete beginner.  their had the most random way of deciding what to move.  they moved to places where the peices "looked" pretty.

and just generally got upset when I "ruined" the picture by taking stuff.

The main chess.com forum personalities:

1. The "I know the <insert opeing herre> 20 moves deep, but i still drop pieces. What am i doing wrong?"

2. The "Im a tactical player", but im still dropping pieces.  What am i doing wrong?"

3. The "Im a positional player, but im still dropping pieces.  What am i doinig wrong?"

4. The "Im dropping pieces, missing simple tactics, so im studying the Ruy Lopez, Sicilian, French, Kings Gambit, Queens Gambit, Traxler, Benoni, Benko Gambit, and Evans Gambit"  What other openings should i be studying?"

Not sure about gangham style?  But if you play someone that leans to the left.  That is gangsta style.

mercatorproject

A lot of "unsound" play works, except against the top players., and even then it works if you are a Tal.

sndeww

positionally sound is annoying as heck

I just play defensive until the other person runs out of time

lol

Those players who play in the exact same style as Stockfish are annoying. Strangely they always take the same amount of time to play a move, regardless of complexity of the position, and then they mate you in 22 moves. I hate that style.
mercatorproject

Lots of guys play for the draw so they can win.

Born2slaYer

When you are playing a classic game against a android and he mates you in about 17 moves. And you keep wondering what went wrong but you cannot figure what was wrong.

Uncle_Jonno

Players who write rude stuff in the chat.
