Has anyone heard about this book or read it? IThink it is fairly new and I can't find any reviews. Stwils

KeepinOn2

Rick Kennedy will be reviewing it at Chessville, but probably will be a month or more yet.  I have not seen another review of it to date.

It's a good book for the adult casual OTB player. Nigel Davies gives very good no-nonsense advice.

My review is almost done! A few family flu/cold episodes has delayed the precess.

I agree with "hicetnunc"! Soltis recent book is more hands-on but Davies has a lot of important things to say.

Farbror, I look forward to your review. I am trying to decide between buying soltis' book or davies'. Stwils. PS should I get either or just stick with Purdy?

I haven't read the Soltis book or Davie's but I kind of think Purdy was overrated.  His thought process is harder to memorize the mate than the K-N-B mate!
