4 player chess?

I'm wondering if anyone has played with a 4 person chess set, and if so, was it fun/interesting/boring etc.

I have it but I can never find 4 people who want to play chess =(

seems like it would not be sound in that you may not control your own destiny. If you make all the right moves, you could still lose due to a bad move by the weakest link playing, allowing another to build a position better or faster.  perhaps with opposate sides co-operating like bridge or spades?!

I've seen 3-way chess boards (they look really weird), but I've never seen a 4-way chess board.  Personally, I've never played anything more than the normal 2-player version.

i have played 30 simultaneous blindfold games, as well as three and 4-way chess. I advise against these as it takes more energy and concentration, which can damage your health
