Isn't it supposed to be that way? The clock winds down from 110 to 0 and at that point, it adds 30 minutes to both clocks. It's up to the players to determine at that moment whether 40 moves have been played.
40/110, SD/30, d10 on DGT North American clock?

Oh snap, good point. I didn't know it was up to the players, haha.

The scoresheet is what matters, not what the timer says.
I personally avoid settings where the timer automatically adds time after a certain number of moves.

I think I was playing in the same tournament (Golden State Open?). I set my clock so it didn't do anything with the move counter, just had a 110 minute time control, and then a 30 minute time control, with the idea being that, as the others have said, you and your opponent should check your scoresheets at the end of the first time control to make sure 40 moves have been played.
Hi, I recently was at a tournment that had two rounds with the time being set to 110 minutes, with a 30 minute sudden death after 40 moves and a 10 second delay for both controls. I was able to set everything except the 40 moves; instead, sudden death started after the 110 minutes were used regardless of the number of moves.
I checked the manual, had a friend try, and even had a tournament director try. No go. Is it possible to set said time controls on the DGT North American clock?
