"or a cheap and easy way to replicate them?"
Are you asking how to make the set yourself?
Here's one site. A little overpriced IMO because the top of the pieces are just a thin piece of wood with the image etched into it.

Here's three from the House of Staunton

Thanks, but those are still too way out of my budget. Wonder why they have to cost so much
If I could make them myself I would, but I'm not that talented
I have the SAC set, it came from HOS. But I didn't pay for it! Eventhough I'm not a fan of decrotive sets, my last name is Lewis, so it is a set that I've wanted for a long time.
And eventhough I'm a grown man at age 42, my recently widowed mother asked me what I would like last year at Christmas. I told her I didn't care, but she said I think I've found something you will love. And when she gave it to me, when we went to visit at Christmas, it was the SAC Lewis set (unpainted) with a green and white Rechapados Ferrar wooden veneer board, purchaced from HOS ( the middle link in Bronco's post #3 above). She was right I love it.
So it is already almost October, Christmas will be here soon, ask Santa Claus for it, and then you don't have to pay for it! Problem solved! You're welcome, Merry Christmas.
I really like the Lewis Chessmen, but the replica sets I've seen are in the hundreds of dollars. Does anyone know a cheaper version of the chessmen, or a cheap and easy way to replicate them?
