afordable eboard with leds and piece recognition

Does it exist now? Talking about the range of cca 500$ max.

I'm searching for a board that would have the following characteristic

1. Cheap piece recognition tech that doesn't require special piece hardware (magnetic coils). One could use whatever pieces one prefers. Example tech would be RFID/NFC sticker tags on bottom of chess pieces. This way we achieve independence and flexibility when choosing piece sets.

2. Eboard with nice LEDs so we don't have to look away from a board when engine makes a move.

3. Software interface that supports multiple engines with perhaps GUI/WEB interface. PGN export. Example Picochess.

4. User interface should be mainly over chees board. (choosing engines, levels, ... picochess is perfect in this)

5. Bonus: SW plugins to play with people on online chess sites. Connectivity with  PDAs.

Priority use is playing against engines and studying chess positions. Positions need to be quickly setup by just placing pieces on a board and start playing immediately.

I found a lot of very nice DIY projects and commercial solutions listed bellow but none that would have all of the above. Perhaps I  missed one?

1. Piece of art DIY  project. No piece recognition though.

2. Nice promising product in it's infancy. Could Picochess work with it? I would also love to have four small LEDs per square but that's a minor issue. Also I'm missing some more feedback on how it behaves in practice.

3. DGT boards. Nice, but no LEDs and relatively expensive proprietary pieces. Very reliable though.

4. Very nice. But dedicated chess computer with one engine. Chesslink provides online conectivity and more engines. Very close to what I'm looking for.

Has anyone built an RFID/NFC 8x8 antena grid with success? and has plans and tips on constructing such thing?

Some Links:

Nice info for making a dedicated chess computer.

Induction based board. I would love to see specs on how this was made and if it has piece recognition.

This i very interesting since it's supposed to be based on RFID UHF tech. However no aditional information is provided.

I got the Certabo a few weeks ago and so far it's been great. The owner personally called me from Italy to answer my question, which was entirely unexpected and very appreciated. I don't see the necessity for Picochess - Stockfish will demolish you no matter what the interface is. The Certabo software is in its infancy and they seem proactive in updating it.

I like picochess because it's interface over the board. You select engine, strength, opening type, etc with pieces. Certabo is a great hwardware product. I can sense that. Some more SW tweaks and I'm buying.

Why would you want to have your eboard ruined with leds when you can have move annoucements? Leds on a stand alone chess computer I can understand, but leds on an eboard doesn't make any sense, unless you want your board to look like a Christmas tree for no reason at all.

frankobb

To you it's ruined, to me it's the best way to stay focused on the board and not get distracted by announcement sound, or any other type of announcements.  You just play. Comparison to a christmas tree is just childish since LEDs are off most of the game.

Because I'm buying it based on my preference and not yours. Hard to believe, I know.

Best board to have all the above features and functions might be Revelation II. Do some research on Revelation, the only downside is the high price. Alternatively, try dgt

True, or the pewatronic. They are in another league in terms of price though.
