I wonder if anyone has any of the following books and can you recommend them as being instructive for improving players?:

1) St. Petersburg 1909 (annotated by Lasker) - algebraic ed. pub. by Russell enterprises, 2008.

2) Carlsbad International Chess Tournament 1929 (annotated by Nimzowitsch) - pub. by Dover Publications, 2004.

6) Meet the Masters (AVRO 1938 tournament, annotated by Euwe) - pub. by Hardinge Simpole Limited, 2004.

Meet the Masters is not a book on the AVRO tournament. Also you are better off buying the original than the over priced Harding Simpole edition. The book is " A miscellany of the most brilliant games of the modern chess masters."

Mew York 1924 is my favorite of the books followed by Nottingham. The new Chess Cafe editions are quite nice. The St Petersburg book is the weakest as Lasker's notes are quite spartan.

I do not think London 1922 has been published yet by Chess Cafe but there is a Dover edition. It is also quite good.

Personally I have been playing through Moscow 1935 ( Caissa editions) which is a fantastic book.
