They look somewhat like a plastic renaissance set I had as a kid. Would be hard to play with, all the major lives look pretty similar.

The same design is used for making ceramic sets. It seems to be a popular style, perhaps due to lack of copyright restrictions, for people who don't really play chess but want an artistic looking set for display. I've seen sets with similar pieces on FB Marketplace for $20-$30.

The design is called Sculpted Gothic by Ganine. Peter Ganine was a sculpture who designed at least two chess sets. The other was the Conquerer set. The Conquerer was the first set I ever owned, the Gothic was the second. The first was a gift when I was about twelve, the other an inheritance. I still have the Gothic but it's in black and white plastic. Ziryab is probably right about the price for a plastic set.

It seems to be hard to find in metal and I won't even try guess a value. I found these two pages, though.

Queen's worth 9 pawns, rook 5 and so on.  just the same as any other set.

I've always disliked chess pieces that are too ornate, or puzzling in and of themselves.

I'd never use these pieces, if I found them like you did…

… even if I lived on Easter Island.
