I mentioned this to Raphael a long while back; the reason for the thin borders on the 2.25" "Player's" design is so that it can maintain the 21" square footprint which is shared across most of the JLP boards (which is necessary so that they can all fit into the JLP chess tables, shipping packaging, etc.). I would certainly love to own the 2.25" "Player's" design with the proportionally thicker border seen in the 2" "Player's" design.
Any interest in a JLP 2.25” board with standard size Drueke style borders? Let’s make this happen!

Hello everyone,
I’ve been a loyal customer of ChessHouse for a while now, and was discussing products with them. I own the JLP 2” Drueke board, and have purchased chessboards from many of the other vendors; there is no comparison!
NO PROMISES, but if there is enough interest…
If JLP came out with the 2.25” Drueke style board, but with regular borders instead of the current thin ones, would this be something you would purchase? No commitment needed, but please be honest in your reply. For reference, here is the current style board, with the thin borders. The board that we would get would have the full size borders!
