Briefly, delay and increments are used in some tournaments (frankly, I've never been to a tournament that uses increment, but been to many use delay). "No beep" (where the clock can run silent) is required at most tournaments.
If the one you are seeing is "Wholesale Chess Basic Digital Game Timer with Bonus & Delay", then it has bonus and delay and that's it.

Thanks to all of you for the very helpful information. This is a great resource when members are so generous with their time and expertise. Thanks again.
So here is the last decision to make. The Wholesale Advanced clock is only a few bucks more but has more features that I may or may not use in the future. But, it is bigger, and I really want simplicity for the basic features I will be using now. I generally go for the better value and functionality of the more expensive choice between two items but I don’t want to give up the basic simplicity I will be using in the immediate future. So
Sounds like a good choice for you. Now that you've decided on a clock, you and/or your kids might want to spend some "time" with an instructive chess book...

Enjoy!
I would suggest you get the advanced clock for a few more dollars.
I bought one of these advanced clocks and gave it to a high school student when it first came out.
The clock is holding up very well for him.
The larger display and design would also be better than the basic model. Also the advanced model is one that you will find useful as the years progress. When I go to tournaments, I never see the basic unit in use that is not new. People inevitably upgrade. I have seen the advanced model used for awhile.
I don't have a chess clock. For playing with the kids and friends, is there any reason not to get the Wholesale Chess Basic Digital Game Timer? It seems inexpensive, simple to use, and flexible enough to provide what we need for now and for the kids if they start playing tournaments at school. Any down-side or suggestions for smarter purchase? Thanks.
