Best chess tournament software?

Does anybody know about a good chess tournament management tool for mobile devices or pc?

I guess it depends on your needs. There are a lot of "professional" (read: expensive) stuff out there for large tournaments, but thats probably more than you need for small/medium tournaments.

Untill recently I've been using challonge.net for tournament setups. It's ok, but it doesn't handle the black/white advantages at all, so you'll have to keep track manually (not really meant for chess). Also, it sucks on tablets and smart phones! So my best tip at the moment is the "Chess Tournament"-app. Only handles 16 players, but i think that will change in coming versions.

Thanks for the replies! I tested the Chess Tournament app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=no.dcapps.chesstournament), and it works great for my needs.

Sure you could do it all manually, but it kind of takes some of the spontaneity out of it. Glad you liked the app! Looking forward to the iOS version (for my iPad :D)!

Free software you can use Tornelo https://tornelo.com/ as a chess tournament software. It is free and FIDE approved. Simple for official organisers, clubs or schools.
