Bless you for asking, bicioo. Every once in a while somebody asks this question, and, as I am sure you have found from searching chess.com, every time the replies that come back are few and not encouraging. That's why the question needs to be re-asked now and again, in hopes that someday there will be something good for Mac users.
If you have an iPhone or iPad, I can vouch for CT-ART 4.0 and "Tactics for Beginners," by the same developer. I have downloaded the free versions and I like them. They drill you on tactics. One feature that is cool here is that, unlike chess.com's Tactics Trainer (which I use a lot and also like) with Tactics for Beginners if you get a tactic wrong, it shows you right away why your answer was wrong by showing you what the next move(s) would be. You can also get this on chess.com's Tactics Trainer (for example, by going to Analysis and then playing it out against the computer), but I like getting the automatic instant feedback. Anyway, they are really good for working on tactics, and I will buy these programs as soon as I run out of problems o the free version.
Good luck in your search, and please let us know if you find out about anything new and good for Mac!
hi to everyone,
I know the subject was debated yet, but previous topics was not useful for me, so I ve decided to open a new one, for anyone like me, who are mac users and need a way to become a better player, without leaving your chair and laptop.
the main question:
which are the best software to learn and improve my ability on the chessboard on mac?
I m searching something like chessmaster, but I m so lazy that don t want to boot xp and chessmaster on my macbook pro.
I m sorry to all of you for my bad english, but, as you understand, it s not my first language.
Thank you for your attention, good luck to anyone!
