Unless I win the Publishers Clearing House prize, or some unknown rich relative leaves me a whole lot of money, I will never own a mammoth ivory set, much less an antique Jacque elephant ivory set, but the bone sets I see from some of the vendors are within the realm of possibility for me. I’m asking for comments from anyone who has experience with bone, and how those sets might compare to ivory in terms of weight, playability, appearance, etc. Of course, I know they are not the same, but would like to hear how satisfied people are with the compromise.
