General Overview? Mastering the Chess Openings - Vol 2 gives a pretty good overview of 1.d4 lines.
Book on 1. d4 Nf6

check out the chessbase shop? They have QG download into your fritz for about 15 bucks. Gives all the opening lines to that defense if your into that sort of thing.

You don't need anything that specialized - yet. And Single QP Openings are probably the next to last class of major openings you should be worried about now. Stick to 1...d5 vs 1.d4 the Double QP Openings are a little easier to grasp when you're starting out. Probably a LOT easier!
Something like GM Fine's "Understanding the Chess Openings" or GM van der Sterren's "Fundamental Chess Openings" should be more than adequate for awhile, if you have to buy some sort of opening book. You can look them up at amazon. As a diamond member, you already have unlimited access to articles, videos and chess mentor lessons about plenty of openings right here.

1...Nf6 is really a transpositional trick. The game could go anywhere really.
Examples:
- 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 e6 could turn into a QGD after 3.Nc3 d5 or into the Nimzo-Indian after 3.Nc3 Bb4.
- 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 g6 and now what? Could be Grunfeld, could be King's Indian Defence.
- 1.d4 Nf6 3.Bg5 and without ifs or buts you've definitely reached the Trompowsky
I'm not going to go into the Catalan or the Benoni. I suppose this could be the book for you:
Hi, I am trying to learn some opening theory about Nf6 against d4. Are there any books about lines that arise from this, or even better, just a general overview of the opening?
