I usually consult http://fetchbook.info to find the best price on a particular book I'm looking for. I'm sure there are other sites like that around that aggregate other booksellers info into one place...
Check out your local Borders bookstore since they are going out of business and all wharehouse stock is being shipped to the stores, not sure if their online website is still working for orders
I just purchased four classic instructional books from Amazon USED and the total was somewhere around $30. Not too bad unless you are going to a legitimate chess shop. Also, if you don't have it, Modern Chess Openings will change your game forever. Fabulous book.
