chess board for analysis/book work

Hello everyone, I’d like to buy a chess board to use as I work through some of the chess books I’ve bought. I originally bought a magnetic 8 inch board and it is too small. What size board is good for working through a book? What kind of sets do you use for working through books?

Price range would be 100 or less USD

Thanks so much

Are you still interested in magnetic or non magnetic? I would recommend a cheap 15 or 16 inch folding board you can get from Amazon. I would also recommend getting a 3 inch wooden pieces from houseofchess.com The 3 inch Popular Staunton set is just right for that size of board. Big enough to work on chess puzzles and analysis. Yet small enough to have a small footprint.

This is what the 3 inch Popular Staunton set looks like on one of those cheap 15 inch folding boards. The green velvet drawstring bag came free with the set from houseofchess.com Not sure if these fits your needs are desires but nonetheless it is an option that works.

You are welcome.

I just use my normal set for it. I have a board with 55mm squares and a board with 60mm squares. Dubrovnik 2.0 chessbazaar pieces, Baku pieces just ordered.

Nothing more satifsfying then working through a book or doing tactics with a beautiful set
