Chess boards and tables antique and modern
I like #3. It's interesting that all of them are folding. I wonder if the one piece boards are fairly recent.

Yes, #3 (above) is a Visigaptham board rosewood and ivory 19th c The pieces are often sandalwood and ivory.
#3 is Sandalwood and Ivory! I think both are ban already. It must have cost a lot of money back then

It is worth noting that Jaques, the original makers of the modern Staunton pattern design pieces, now universally used for play, sold sets by base diameter in order that a buyer could more easily match set with board.
