Do you have an iPhone or iPad? If so, there is a game clock app you may want to consider using as an interim solution until you save up enough for a Chronos. I have not used the app myself.

I have an inexpensive Saitek clock. I picked it up for around $30 from Chesshouse.com
It works great, is easy to program and has many options.
