"Chess for Dummies" and "Chess Openings for Dummies" by James Eade.

I found these two books while browsing in iBooks on my iPhone. Has anyone read them? Are they worth getting? If not what books do you recommend? I don't consider myself a beginner but I'm no grand master either.

I suggest you get  Idiot's Guide To Chess by GM Wolf. It is a better book than Chess For Dummies.

They're fine enough books, assuming you are somewhere in the beginner category.

I gave them both a look when I was returning to chess after a many decade lay-off. They were good quick reviews.
