House of Staunton has nice sets at different price ranges, including some nice ones at clearance sale. I recently got their Tal reproduction on clearance for around C$145. I like how thick the bases are, and the pieces don’t have sharp features so they’re nice to hold. They’re nicely weighted as well.
The Indian Chess Company has also been releasing some nice reproductions at fair prices recently. The Royal Chess Mall and Chess Villa offer sets at good prices as well. I can’t vouch for RCM's quality, but I’ve heard good things about Chess Villa.
I only play online, but I'd like to buy a nice set for my home. Any suggestions?
