Woops, the Arena in Downloads is just a link.  In any case, you can download the actual program from the Arena web site.

I downloaded SCID and put in some variations, now Im wondering how to save these to a database or tree for later study.

I don't have SCID, but isn't there something like a "File" section in the menu? Under that, there should be a save option. Or a floppy disk picture somewhere?

If you can't find it, try hitting "f1" key. This should open the help menu. Search for "save" in there.

I found something, It is called repertoire editor, but it is very difficult to add variations like I want to. I want some way to easily set up a move tree. If anybody is familiar with the software and could be of help that would be great!

Also, thank you to all that have helped so far, especially Philidor

Yeah, I don't know much about SCID either, but there is a SCID users group here on chess.com, and there is also a SCID Database forum where you might be able to find help.
