Perfect!

My Air is now going to be my travel board, paired with a Surface Pro 3 I have laying around. It all fits perfectly in my carry on bag, so I will be able to take a portable playing solution (that works very well, not hit or miss) with me everywhere when I travel for work.

A bit of promotion!

Chessconnect works really with the new House of Staunton sensory board. I played several bots and standard games and it worked as expected.

I can confirm that Chessconnect works well with the HOS sensory boards. happy.png

And a video that demonstrates how to use Chessconnect on Android! I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+, and install the Kiwi Browser, add the Chessconnect extension, and then connect to the Chessnut PRO!

I have a Lenovo tab 10, and it works with the Kiwi browser, but it won't work with Lichess.

Did you trie. Mine connects but it wont show the moves.

@Ceeffee29 - check in your settings of the tablet to make sure the Chessnut board is not connected to Bluetooth.

I got it to work properly with a 7 year old Galaxy Tab A, but I had to forget the Chessnut Air in the BT settings.

That's a really good tip, @Rsava!

I really appreciate other users giving advice here. The amount of user questions has increased drastically in the past days. It is hard for me alone to keep up.

I am collecting every problem that could be solved in the troubleshooting section of my website. So it is always a good idea, to look there first.

Furthermore, the current beta also has a debug mode that will hopefully help isolating problems more quickly in the future.

I am guessing that about 97% of Chessconnect installations run fine. The others help me make the software more robust. 😇

That's probably because a few of us are suggesting the extension to everyone who has even the slightest problem with the Chessnut app or just wants an easy way to play online without having to find their phone and open an app. happy.png

Which is a good thing! 👍👍👍

This sounds amazing. Curious if there are any future development plans to support the Square Off Pro board? The Square Off app integration with Chess dot com is very limited so this would be a great improvement.

I've added it to the list. 😊

How can I get into the beta? I have a DGT USB board and I’d like to test it with Windows. Thanks and great work!

Some users have reported problems with lichess. The problem manifests as moves not being transmitted from the board to lichess and the following error in the console log: "Error opening stream: 400". So far, I have been unable to reproduce this problem here.

It seems to only occur when you start a game against a random opponent. Which is something I am not really happy to do for testing. So, if anybody has this problem and finds a way to reproduce it without having to offend other players, that would help me enormously.

And by the way: I am working on a mechanism to make these console logs more easily accessible, as many have difficulties in retrieving them.

Hello Jörn, I will attempt to do this over the next few days with my test account over there. Will let you know if there is anything that is repeatable.

There is a good chance @agatti1970 solved the error-400-riddle. This seems to occur if you try to play a format which is not supported by the board API. The lichess documentation says:

Time controls: Rapid, Classical and Correspondence only. For direct challenges and games vs AI, Blitz is also possible.

Supposedly, you get error 400, if you chose any other format. I will investigate this further and potentially implement a corresponding error message for this scenario.

Thanks again to @agatti1970 for finding this.

Well done, @agatti970.

Thank-you, but in reality the one to be thanked and congratulated is @joernupbde.

He's delivering new beta versions every minute to keep up with the test results, addressing every single bit of information we exchange each other.

I'm Impressed by his ability to succeed where others have not be able to, on both CDC and Lichess platforms.

I can't wait when the official release will be delivered, supporting DGT on both sites!

It's going to be a true "game changer" day for many e-board users.

Absolutely, he is doing incredible work. I have had the same experience with testing for him as well. Quick to give an update to try again.

I have not tried a DGT board as I only have the Pegasus (no USB connection that I can tell), but I again used my Air this morning and it was flawless. I even had the extension logged in to the wrong account and thanks to his work to add multiple users for Lichess, I quickly switched over and the board connected up and caught up with all the moves. Amazing.

I am happy to announce that version 3.2.x is due to be released this weekend. I have changed the version scheme: first part for major release changes, second part for minor updates and last part for bug fixes and adjustments.

3.2.x will bring:

  • support for TabuTronic Sentio boards
  • experimental support for DGT USB boards (Bluetooth and Pegasus is currently being worked on)
  • a new debug mode which hopefully makes it easier to help those with connection problems
  • some bug fixes in the lichess code

Already in the pipe for version 3.3.x are things like chess clocks (DGT3000), analysis board on lichess, starting games from set positions,...

Man, this is amazing! If you ever manage to find a way to get your work onto iPhone and Android platforms, it will be doubly so! I don't often get out my laptop to use the board (would much rather just take the phone out of my pocket), but it's great to know that I could.
