Hi all,

Just got my board and I noticed that some squares will have the LED lit while it shouldn't be lit depending on the position of the other pieces. It is very dim but nonetheless noticeable when playing in a low light environment. I'm trying to find out if I have a faulty board or if all boards have this due to the way the electronics was designed. Please note that the picture makes it look worse but it is still noticeable.

Hi.... the same thing happens on my board... on the same square .. but it doesn't seem to affect anything and only shows if there are a lot of lights on like at the end of a game or if someone has resigned and you're putting the pieces back in order... my problem is that the red charging light never changes to green... Chessnut Air admitted it might be a fault with the light. It's no big deal as it only seems to take about 30 to 40 minutes to charge.

Anybody gonna get the Chessnut Evo? Even for the lower Kickstarter price, I'm kind of 50/50 because I'm not sure if it'll last long in terms of battery life and wear and tear.

If I can get it for the initial price, I will likely grab it.

Nice to be able to have everything all in one.

Thanks for confirming.

My light also stays red and doesn’t go off or green when the battery is full.

I am very dissappointed by the chessnut Air. The indicator LED is not bright enough for using it outside, even when Not in direct sunlight. There is No way to increase the brightness in Software.

To be used outside the lights should be red not green but what you can do is just look at your phone to move the pieces and also you can use the white pawn app which has move announcements and do it that way. I do prefer to just look at the board itself to move the pieces but outside unless you're in a place with shade it's difficult due to the green leds.

Hi, I've been interested in purchasing the Chessnut Pro. I am an ios phone and OS X (M1) user. Is it working as advertised yet or should I wait? Seems like many have had issues. The reviews online look great, but appear to be with android.

vitualis

I don't have an iPhone but AFAIK from reports, it works fine with the iPhone.

I use my pro with my iPhone and iPad and it works great

Thank you, both. I’ll order it now. @vitualis your videos have been really helpful.

Cool I cant wait. Comes next Tuesday.

Have you seen the new board coming out in September by Chessnut, called the Evo.

What's interesting about that is the ability to modify an engine not by adjusting parameters, but by inputting a series of games ( at least 20)., and it will mimic their style and strength!

Then the you have created a style of play that mimics the games from that player.

Possibilities are endless with this idea. Create an engine of your own personal self, famous grandmasters of the past or present, etc. This is something I've wanted to do for years.

Was hoping this feature would come along on the Air board but I don't think it is.

Have one (EVO) ordered, should be here by end of Sept (I am number 25 on the list and I paid for express shipping).

It looks very promising and if the updates they have put into the Air (which I also have) is indicative of the support they will give the EVO it will be a very good product.

Ordered a week ago....Excited - But Android not IOS and heard BUGS? sad.png

Update..

Cancelled the Air board and ordered the Evo board.

Don't see a reason to have two of these.

The ability to modify the engine is worth the extra cost.

I too paid a little more for faster shipping. Cant wait!
