Computer Program for Local Playing

Does anyone know of a good computer program that will allow two players to play locally on a single machine?  Specifically I'm looking for something that will allow the game to be saved as a PGN file, and has game clocks that will track each player's time.

Just remember to turn off the computer analysis.  You can download the pgn at any point. You can't save it in your archive here but you can save it on your local machine.

I didn't know whether you want the move times to also be saved to the PGN file.

The freeware "Crafty Chess Interface" will do that. There is a setup version and a portable version available. Version 10 is the newest version.

The freeware Nagaskaki GUI will also allow 2-player mode, but it doesn't save the move times to the PGN file.

Finally, I noticed that the old, commercial Chessmaster 10 allows 2-player mode (and maybe Chessmaster Grandmaster Edition (aka CM11), I'm not sure). However, it only saves the move times if you save the game in its proprietary .CMG file format, which is a binary file. Weirdly enough, if you create a tournament between two players, it WILL save the move times to the PGN file. The downside of the Chessmaster program is that you have to buy it on the used market. Regarding CM11, I've heard of people installing it on Windows 10, but I haven't tried installing it on Windows 10 myself.
