Confused about Rechapados Ferrer boards

I’ve been looking for this board from Rechapados Ferrer

Its says it’s poplar (dark squares), sycamore (light squares), and palisander (border).

I’ve come across these boards here & here .

They say they’re black anegre (dark squares), maple (light squares) & rosewood/palisander.

1. Is the house of Staunton board actually Rechapados Ferrer just rebranded as their own & is it indeed the same one as the one listed on Regency Chess?

2. Are the boards I linked the same as the one listed on the Rechapados Ferrer website?

They are the same board. Rechapados Ferrer sells these to distributors worldwide, no matter that HOS and Regency claim to have an “exclusive.” And while HOS bills their board as having birds eye maple white squares, I can assure you that they are about the lowest quality Birdseye maple I’ve ever seen, I.e. not very highly figured with “birds eyes”. But whoever sells them, the Rechapados boards are manufactured and finished to very high quality, even their lower end boards.

Thank you!

Do we have a list of the Rechapados Ferrer vendors, preferably in the US? I just ordered one recently from the UK and ended up paying about the same for shipping than the board, itself. O_O

Where's the best place in the UK to get these boards as one day hope to buy a nice board for myself? Thanks.

How does a nice veneered board like this compare to a handmade one from ColoradoWoodWorker?

@Sound67 you can check with support at Niggemann, sometimes they can procure boards from Recharpados. And yes, HOS sells Recharpados boards, I know since delivery comes in original rechapardos wrapping. One hint on their webpage is made in Spain.

Some European Reseller for the ‘Queen’s Gambit’ board will not ship outside the European Union, such as https://chessis.art/products/the-queens-gambit-chess-board, they are willing to sell you the board but expect you arrange your own shipper to pick up the board from their shop. I’ve calculated a shipping cost of $125CA, not including insurance, plus duties and taxes. Contact Quintin, at www.chessaus.com as a Rechapados reseller, he will be bring in 6-8 of these 55 cm boards at a more reasonable price to arrive in May or June.

I just purchased a 17.7" Rechapados Ferrer walnut and maple board from coolchesscanada. Great board, and coolchesscanada was very fast and friendly. Highly recommended.

Looks lovely. What size is your chess set?

The pieces are from Chesshouse. The king is 3 3/4" tall with a 1.44" base. For the price, it is a very nice set and fits the 1.77" squares of my board nicely.

I didn't buy from CoolChessCanada but the Customer Service is great. Quickly answered all of my questions about the RF Board and checked stock on a couple others. On top of that, they did everything they could to minimize shipping to my spot in the US. When when they realized it was going to be expensive, the person was upfront about it and recommended I find someone in the US. The hard work and honesty were appreciated!

I ended up getting a board from Colorado Woodworker and am extremely pleased with it. As for the RF, it was The Chess Store

Nice, which chess pieces are those?

I purchased the set on Etsy from a seller named "RetroMaximum". He doesn't have the set listed for sale always but if you message him and reference the Latvian reproduction pieces he'll know what you are referring to. Price was $230 plus shipping brought the total to $264.99. The king is 3.75 inch in height and 1.5 inch diameter at the base. The board is 2-inch squares.
