DGT bluetooth Windows 11 connection problem

I have just bought a DGT bluetooth board and cannot get it to connect to Windows 11 using Bluetooth.  I'm getting kind help from DGT support, but we've not solved it yet.  Some things work and some don't as follows:

DOES WORK
BT connection to my wife’s desktop PC running Windows 10
BT connection to a Samsung A7 Lite Android tablet
USB connection to my ThinkPad for use with Fritz

DOES NOT WORK
BT connection to my ThinkPad running Win 11.  I've tried various YouTube solutions and trying a USB BT adaptor to no avail.
BT connection to my desktop PC running Win 11
BT connections to my iPhone and IPad.  I accept there’s no Apple suitable software for DGT chess, but I hoped the Apple devices might at least 'see' the DGT board.

Has anyone had any similar issues, or got any clever ideas?  I want to connect to a Windows 11 ThinkPad to use Fritz and play online chess.

Hi,

I've heard Win11 may have BT issues for some users. First question is: is Win 11's BT working with other devices which are not the DGT board?

Good Luck

Thanks for the suggesstion. I'll work through some of these linked suggestion when I get home tonight. I can connect other BT devices e.g. earbuds and a mouse, but not the DGT board. The problem is replicated on both my laptop and my desktop PC.

The only additional thing I can think of, is that DGT's e-board BT is probably quite older (as BT protocol) than Windows 11's BT devices. This means that the Windows BT interface shall be set to be fully compatible with older BT protocols. Maybe there is a setting in Windows 11 BT which ensures such compatibility mode is "on". I'm only speculating as my e-board is USB-C and I don't own a Win 11 machine, but the problem you're experiencing made me remember of these back-ward compatibility issues I encountered a few times in different scenarios. Keep us posted.

I'm wondering the same thing, hence the iPad not seeing it and the board having a older type USB connection.

Your link solved it. There's an advanced setting which allows BT to see a lot more than the basic setting, as well as the DGT board my Garmin Vivosport also suddently appeared.

Many thanks !

Would it be possible for you to give some more details about where the advanced setting was? Just in case other people have the same issue. Thanks!

Sorry, I was typing briefly on my iPad when I answered. This post here:

highlights it well. Switching from 'Default' to 'Advanced' solved the problem.

have you tried turning it off and on again?

That link got me up and running - the part about 'advanced' setting was inhibiting windows. Thanks!
