DGT Pegasus, Centaur, e-Board, Smart board user group

Hoping this doesn't violate the "excessive promotion" rule , please give me only a  warning if so. This is more of a Public Service Announcement: There's now a DGT Pegasus User Group in chess.com: https://www.chess.com/club/dgt-pegasus-user-group

It's there because:

• More Chess.com members want to use them here
• Pegasus online boards are very new to the market and growing
• Lichess has a User Group and we don't (until now)
• Comments and questions are currently scattered everywhere
• The existing DGT Chess Club is way too general and not very active
• We want to help make the Chess.com/Pegasus experience awesome
• We can help one another and unburden the chess.com support team from our product-specific questions
• Right now, no team game or tournaments, just info. Games later

It's public for now. Pls be kind and constructive, view or join as you see fit. Will lock down in future so only Members could post.

Does anyone know if you can also use the Pegasus on the charger? That would mean a temporary solution for me, because then I would buy a power bank.

My Pegasus is basically unusable. I only have iOS. It used to work kinda.....

It is hard to work out when it is charged or not charged, and it will not work with a charging cable attached. But has been on charge for 2 days so must be charged.

It would not connect etc so I have done at least 2 factory hard resets. Not renamed the unit. My iPhone sees the Pegasus board.

Then it will not play but if you go to PLATFORM and toggle in and out of Lichess then it will create a game. I chose computer to keep it easy.

All that happens then is EVERY time is it say "Board is invalid please fix your pieces". But whatever you do makes no difference. And yes pieces are correct and board the right way around etc etc

And then finally the “Connected” flasher at the top flashes constantly all the time in the iPhone screen. All.The.Time.

So I managed to get 1 computer game to work but you have to look away from the screen as the “Connected” warning flashes all the time.

Surely I have a faulty board??

It is totally useless apart from when switched off.....then it works as a chess board!

@johnnyduval - I have used mine with the charging cable attached, does it not play at all or does it just do weird things? 

Have you contacted support? Maybe you do have a bad board. 

Hello No problem for me the Pegasus works very well I use a Xiaomi and tabs8 Samsung a real pleasure It's a shame that we only have access to opponents and not against the computer I hope there will be an evolution on this subject as with white pawn

Same problems for me like Johnny described above. These are mostly iOS only problems related to their sh... software. You can help a lil bit by using the White Pawn app instead. But that's it. 
Anybody knows when iOS DGT support for chess.com app is coming or planned?
I can do by myself if you get me the source code ;-)

What I do not understand, why is the Centaur more expensive than the Pegasus when the Pegasus can go online? I love my Centaur but now with e-boards , the Centaur seems outdated. So I was thinking of the Pegasus, if it the Centaur but going online.

Just keep in mind the Raspberry Pi Zero W doesn't come cheap, a better step would be to buy an italian Certabo/Tabutronic (Certabo provides no pieces set by default, only magnets and of course the wooden chessboard) or wait for this year Particula's GoChess. so i should mod my Centaur? ?? i make money, that's not the issue. For me it's about the tactile. I love the feel of the Centaur, but it doesn't go online. i even have the Chessnut Pro, which is great, but i feel it's too large for quick online play. I think the size and feel of the Centaur is just right as the sweet spot-- but no online. So o was wondering about the Pegasus. Apparently it's smaller and no one raves about it.

I like the Chessup. It's #2 on my list of owned e-boards.

Solid board, pretty good integration. Seems geared more toward the beginner end of the spectrum but I like the fact that you can use it on it's basic levels without an app.

Y'know, its a "STEM platform", especially suited for teaching chess to kids in schools. "Embedded" AI and assist levels improvements are to be expected in the upcoming months. And of course, lessons integration too (on Android, mainly). Salute !
