That is a pretty good clock for the price. I bought one for my son (I got the DGT XL at the time).
Digital chess clock

Martin , do you personally think that this is a big deal to buy that clock ( put on my shoesses and then tell me) ?

I think it is really a personal preference. When I bought it, I think it was $45. It does everything I need it to do and is pretty easy to set. It isn't as solid as a Chronos, but as long as you are not dropping it all the time or banging pieces on it, it should hold up well.
I like the rocker switch too as it is simple to push and see from across the room (though not as easy as the kind with lighted buttons). One down-side is that id doesn't display seconds until you are under 10 minutes. But not everyone likes clocks that always display them.

I agree with this opinion but, just to be clear, the DGT NA displays seconds when you're under 20 minutes.

Yeah, it's a personal preference. The DGT is one of the top chess clocks.
To me DGTs look a little flimsy, but I used to play a lot of hard-core blitz. For tournaments and more sedate play, I'm sure it's fine.
What are your plans for the clock? I've got a Zmart clock but find I haven't used it much. I play sometimes in a park and I used to play in a club but there were so few members who showed up that I stopped going.
Online chess has changed things a lot.

Ah, you are right. I don't use that clock as much; maybe it's the XL that only shows seconds when under 10 minutes. Or I could just be forgetful
To have a clock for play at home, the DGT North American is fine.
As mentioned, the clock does not show the seconds left until the total time is under 20 minutes. But if you use this at home, you probably will not play many long time control games with it. And even if you do, not seeing the seconds until under 20 minutes is not that big of a deal.
For the cost, this clock is great.

In the absence of the now discontinued Saitek Pro the DGT is your best choice in the under $50 price range! Get it, it is a good clock, yes it feels light weight but it is rugged and won't weigh down your chess bag.

I'm with everyone else. The DGT is great value for the price. I picked one up and I like it (though not as much as my Chronos). I also see a number of people using them at the chess tables downtown and they seem to hold up well despite the impressive amount of abuse they take. It seems everyone there plays with a heavy hand. :-)

I agree. You won't find a better timer at that price.
The Saitek doesn't feel light but that's due to the C batteries. It also had (has) a bug in the custom increment settings.

I liked the Saitek, too. I found the bug by accident. The timer didn't correctly add increments on certain settings.
For example, game in 45 minutes with a 45 second increment. If you set the timer for that control, you'll find that the increments are not added correctly. That's not the only custom time control with problems, either. Some settings work fine, others do not. I was never able to discern a pattern. When I say the increments were not added correctly, I'm not talking about a few seconds.
If you still have a Saitek Pro, try a little test. Set it for game in 45, with a 45 second increment, and quickly depress the buttons for 15 moves. Then pause the timer to check the times for white and black. Do the math and you will find that the times are substantially in error. I had two of these timers, bought at different times, and each displayed this behavior. I suppose it's possible they fixed the bug in later production, but I doubt it. Anyway, some custom increment controls worked fine, others didn't.
I asked Saitek about this (e-mail) but they never replied

Crappov: That's pretty horrible of Saitek.
The whole reason for a chess clock is to keep accurate time. The programming isn't trivial but it isn't rocket science either.
A disgrace.

I myself am thinking about getting the (DGT Easy Plus Timer Digital Chess Clock) for $44.95 to replace my old Diamond Quartz Analog Chess Clock. I'm just wondering if it's worth making the change. I don't really play that much Chess OTB. I do most of my Chess playing on Chess.com.

Dear friend, my advice is for you to down load chess .com clock software. cheap and you can spend the money for books or new chess set....😊
Nowdays it is very popular to have , at least , one chess clock/timer at home.Thats why I want to get one of them, but as you can see in the market they are really expensive , and sometimes they dont even function in a regular form ( meaning that it gets broken very fast , or may have some technical problems) The clock that I am going to be buying worth 37 bucks
DGT North American Chess Clock take a look at it and tell me what do you think about it. It is good? Theres is a better one ? etc...
