I think the first is mustard yellow and the second looks like banana creme.
Do you have picture of Ultimate Chess Pieces?
No, they are not a copy of the Fischer Spassky set. I know the fellow that created this set and it is not that at all.

These are all pictures of my set.
Thank you so much for pictures!
I guess they look similar to the first picture I posted.
They look nice, and I ordered a set.
I think new ultimate chess pieces are especially good on dark & antique wooden chess board.
Their vivid yellow color matches well with toned-down antique wood color.
I have customized roll-up wooden-grain board, so I will post pictures after I get a set.

I was always a fan of the original Ultimate set. It looked great, handled well and was economical. It was almost perfect! There was one drawback: the weights tended to loosen with use. This wasn't a huge issue because the price was low and re-gluing the weights, while a hassle, was easy.
Is this problem mitigated in the new version? I realize weights can loosen in any set but it was a frequent issue in the original.
It is still an issue because the weights are not fixed it professionally. You may be able to use glue to fix them but the repair work will be messy.
This is not true.
I have fixed a number of weighted sets and it has never been messy.

1. Color
I got the product, and I don't want to complain color. (Even though I prefer creamy color for white pieces)
2. Size
However, pieces are a little bit crowded on 2.25" board, so I used 2.375" board as shown in the picture.
Still not pleasant because pawns are too big.. they will look good on 2.5" board.
I think bishop's head should be a little bit sharper and pawn should be downsized.
3. Weight
Kings, queens, bishops, knights, and rooks are heavily weighted.
Pawns are not so heavily weighted but I have no problem playing with them.
However, white king's weighting is loose so when I move the piece, it makes sound..
When I shake it, I can feel its weighting is moving.
Total
I would rather buy HOS Reykjavik set.

No one has complained about loose weights in the new Ultimate sets so how can you mke a FALSE statement as you did. Do not disparage other chess sellers with no facts please.
Again we see some chess sellers like wiscmike acting provocatively by copying and pasting posts from other topics. Of course, when a astute and well-experienced person finds faults with your low quality chess sets, you start running around like headless chicken trumpeting your horns that your chess sets are the best on this plane! You can fool naive and inexperienced customers but not well-informed people.
ROFLMAO!!!
wiscmike is NOT a chess seller. He is a retired fellow. I know this for a fact!!
Chessopera you should learn that silence is your best defense.
You have made a number of claims about product (loose weights in the Ultimate set, rusting switches on the Chronos clocks) that are completely false and do not exist at all except in your imagination.
There is no evidence that you are astute. In fact the evidence is that you are a blow hard.
You really should provide real evidence, like pictures for instance, that back up your claims.

I love my ultimate sets in spite of the yellow, as do most of the people I play with. I can assure that the weights have never loosened on my sets.

Sorry, but I also have a "loose weight" problem with my white king as I mentioned above.

A problem that could be solved with the proper adhesive. A touch of Gorilla Glue and the damn things would never rattle.

Sorry mina _maria that you have a loose weight in your K. I am sure if you email Shelby he would send you a replacement so you do not have to go through taking ff the felt and gluing the weight and the felt back on. Shelby is very good that way. As far as sizes of pieces go, if he changed the pieces to what you recommend it would no longer be his Ultimate set.

Thank you for advice, wiscmike.
I sent him an e-mail, and he sent me a replacement. Problem solved!
In terms of size, well, original version of ultimate pieces had smaller pawn, and that was why I mentioned size of pawns.

I cannot figure out what kind of color they have..
Is it bright yellow or natural yellow??
Do you have actual picture of it?
