Dubrovnik 1950 Olympiad Set: Who makes a reproduction of the folding Chessboard?

Also, if anyone knows or would be interesting whether they were actually made that way to keep the lighter knocked down pieces within the board playing surface, or was it just cosmetic?

Please send me a dm if you are interested in this board. I could definitely add this board to my lineup, just not sure I can do it at an agreeable price point.

@joelwill if you can capture the old-world elegance (thin raised border, etc) - I think you could corner a market.

Examples of my other work. All of the ones marked Made in the USA.

A huge article with tons of detailed photos here on the Dubrovnik Chess board with 60mm squares made for the 1950 IX Olympiad 'Dubrovnik' Chess Set http://bestchessmenever.com/blog/files/the-dubrovnik-chess-set.html

Thank you for the link and the compliment!
After studying many pictures of this board and how it is constructed, I wouldn't be able to reproduce it for any less than $700. Sorry, I wish there was a way I could and still be affordable.

No worries. Thanks for looking into the project.

I might be able to help, and might be able to do it a lot less that 700! I'm currently researching and designing a folding table to for someone to house their dubrovnik pieces on. Get in touch and I'm sure I can help out, if you're still after this board! gee_bee_21@hotmail.co.uk
Yesterday, after wresting with myself with which company's version of the Dubrovnik 1950 Chessmen to go with, after much debate between CS and RCM, I pulled the trigger and put in my order with RCM.
NOW... it suddenly dawns on me that to really make this set of reproduction 1950 Dubrovnik Chessmen truly complete, would be to pair it with a reproduction of the folding box-style chessboards they used with these sets back in the day.
SO... Can someone tell me who is currently offering an accurate reproduction of the chessboard in the picture above?
