Where did you get the info about the NEO? Their websiste only shows an estimated delivery date of end of march for the swap but nothing about the NEO.
Like I said in a previous post for those waiting on the sidelines I think the best strategy is to wait until april before buying.
The Square Off Pro is good but it's too big for me and my only other choice is the Pegasus which is smaller but they won't have IOS integration until march supposedly. So for those that want a smaller board E board we can just wait until april and hopefully the Pegasus will have IOS worked out and also a bunch of other smaller boards will have come out by then. By then we'll have reviews and we can make a good buying decision.
eBoards: Coming soon

Hi AbundanceEd,
you`re right. The NEO will be ready for shipment in June 22 (follow link above), the date is from the kickstarter campaign.

You don't lost the Certabo. Works on all platforms, including raspberry pi and Linux. Has worked online for several years now. There are different sizes. You can use whatever pieces you want.

This thread is for brand new/soon to come electronic boards.
Not so sure a new thread is needed as all of these units already have at least one thread going. If you wish to combine them, you should at least include all available devices.
In any case it is good to see some competition amongst the device providers, perhaps that will foster better products for the end user. As I and others have said before, what is really needed is a well defined software standard that all product developers and online play service providers have to meet. This should be driven by FIDE. In the meantime you will continue to have what you have now. A muddled set of devices that work with some providers and not others, and work with some operating systems and not others, none of which really servers the end users writ large.
What I want is a device that allows online play using real pieces on a real board. This device would connect to the internet directly and not require a third party device or software application (tablet, smartphone, desktop computer). It would support analysis using user provided and upgradeable engines (Stockfish, Hiarcs, Leela, Komodo, sheredder. fritz etc., etc.) and it would support direct play against those engines. It would support transfer of games to external devices, ideally via WiFi, but perhaps also via Bluetooth, or direct connection. It would have a user replaceable battery. It would require no cables except to charge for any of this operability, but would make available RJ-45 and USB connections so the end user has a choice. And its firmware would be upgradeable via WiFi direct from the internet. It would also have a clock display for when you are playing online games.
Hey, a guy can dream.

The link from the kickstart is June 2020!
Right now, both the Swap and the NEO "should" ship at the same time, March 2022, but it has been delayed so much at this point, I wouldn't count on it.

Chessup seems like the best one. still wondering about Pegasus. but the color assistance mode seems really good. And implement teaching and other great feature that Pegasus dont have.

Ok so what are all these other devices you are alluding to? Did you not read the title of this thread? We're not talking about old e boards. So if there's some new e board that's coming that he didn't post then list it if not you wasted our time with your post.

Darn. I think the Millenium eONE is on time so that might be the only e chess board from the list for a couple months.

I've ordered the eOne (Schachversand Niggemann, Germany) with shipment "end of January" and I'm nervous if it's really on time.

Keep me updated let me know if you get an update.
BTW the square off swap is now delayed to may.

I've also pre-ordered the Millenium eOne from Schach Niggemann. There has been no indication of a delay that I'm aware of, but the good thing is the vendor doesn't charge Paypal until the product ships.

If you have ordered in December and paid with credit card:
the amount could only blocked for 4 weeks - and if the eONE is not shipped in this time, they will get in touch with you for a new blocking / new order. It‘s so that the amount on your card can only blocked for max 4 weeks. That was the case with my order. The solution was that my old order was cancelled and I ordered again, so that the amount is now blocked for the next 4 weeks.
Schachversand Niggemann is a really good company. Good support an super fast delivery. They send me the Pegasus within 24 hours. But I am in Germany.
