Silman's complete endgame book is rather good. The chapters are organised per rating level so you can progress through it as your rating and understanding increases.

People go gaga over Silman but I would recommend the rather underrated 'How to Play Chess Endings' by Eugene Znosko-Borovsky.
Chess Fundamentals - Capablanca
Chess Endings: Essential Knowledge by Yuri Averbach. An algebraic version was published by Everyman Chess.
