Well, be sure to check other editions on Amazon. With just a quick search I found 4 under $100. Still pricey for a softcover, but a lot less what you saw.

I just run a google search in "free chess books pdf" and found thousands of results. Here one link that claims all their downloads are actually legal (no piracy). Maybe you can find something else to study with while save the money to buy the one you want.

I was looking for this book Just one year ago. Finally one of my friends ordered it online for me and I got it for 30 bucks ! and don't search the web for it's PDF , since you won't find . But the more important thing that you must know is this book targets beginners. If you have worked Silman's End game book already , then I don't recommend this for you.
Ok so at the moment I am working on my tactics and will very soon start reading Silman's endgame course and after that I wanted to read Dan Heisman's everyone's 2nd chess book but I can't find it anywhere (online or at libraries or stores) so I was wondering what would be a suitable alternative? or preferably where to get it without having to pay $1,000? (actual number on Amazon)
