Excalibur game

Newbie here, just getting back into this...

I have an Excalibur computer chess board that I got years ago and am now starting to play with again.  My question is this: It seems that when a pawn is promoted, the board makes it a queen by default, with no break in play to change it.  How can I choose which piece I want it to be?

If you scroll down you'll find some of the Excalibur manuals available.

The manual doesn't say specifically, but the section under "Set Up" gives directions on how to change pieces.  I should have read it a little closer. You just have to change the piece BEFORE you move or you will then be doing two "takeback" moves.
