We are asking for your favorite openings book not a list of them. What is your favorite or one you like
I'm trying to play more e4 so I'm better at more openings and ideas. I've been using a free Chessable course for the Ruy Lopez so far which I find very instructive. I have a book on play e4 e5 but haven't touched it much because of school so in rated games I play my French/Taimanov.
If you want to find some free chess books, I recommend looking at archive.org as most of them are out of copyright and in free domain
I'll start off with "Playing the Queen's Gambit- A Grandmaster Guide" by Lars Schandorff. This was after I had a dip in rating a decided to play d4 instead of e4. I was winning games with the Queen's Gambit and wanted to learn more and found this book. The book went through theory, chess games, and all of it was annotated. I created a study on Lichess on his book here.
This guy was so good, Gotham Chess even credits becoming an IM to his Caro Cann book. Anyone else with a similar story?
