This is far and above my absolute favorite travel set I own.
Grab and go, all fits in the cloth bag, i throw it in my suitcase whenever I think I will want a board on the road.

I have that set! It's tiny enough to live in my computer bag, but I find the pieces a little too stubby, and feel crowded on the board. My absolute favorite is this one, Not too large to fit in my luggage, and a reasonable size for playing. Plus it was a Father's Day gift :

Yes, the little Milled leather set takes some getting used to and is not for everyone.
The stubby little pieces do make it seem crowded so you would need to like a slightly crowded board.
I did not enjoy it at first but the more I used it the more I liked it.
That World Chess Travel Set is nice, though. A nice Father's Day gift!
Looking for suggestions for a travel chess board, pls share your favorites.
Sharing a link below to the one we currently own/use. We picked it up on a trip in a toy store and have used it a TON since then, we love it, we bring it everywhere with us. What I like is:
-the size, its smallish but not tiny. Could stand to be a little smaller but its a nice size.
-pieces are big enough to have a positive tactile experience while playing
-magnetic so if playing on a plane or somewhere bumping or jostling doesnt affect the game or cause you to drop pieces
-self contained (pieces go inside) so its easy to grab and go
-hard board so we can play on a lap or uneven surface easily
We are going to be doing some international travel this summer and I am trying to see if there is another set that people love which offers many of these features but is maybe more compact or lighter as space and weight will be at a premium on this trip....
Thanks!
