Frank’s name pops up a number of times in this forum. If you’re watching Frank I’m wondering if you know of any Canadian sources of custom boards?
Moriarty_697

I'd be interested to know, as well.

I am not Frank but I know a couple. One is from Alberta (http://uniquewoodproducts.ca/) and the other is from Ontario (https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/DaveDufourWoodworker).

wow, I got a thread named after me... happy.png

Sorry, can't help, never procured a custom board from a Canadian source, but looks like Lawrence provided some great links.

Frank’s a rock star and deserves the props. Plus he’s Canadian so figured his name would attract other Canadians.

LOL - I would love to, Ron, but there's just too much troll activity going on these days to post much, which is why a lot of the old regulars have moved elsewhere...

Would love to know of a troll-free environment, or at least one that had more proactive troll controls.  One of the best resources I've found for learning about books and pieces has been here, as the groaning bookshelf and the diminishing available set storage places in the house will confirm.  Any suggestions where those "elsewheres" might be?  Please don't say Facebook... Will. Never. Join.

When I saw the forum topic I feared it was a eulogy. Glad you're alive and kicking!

You should reconsider, if for no other reason than participating in the chess forums there. Goodknightmike and I moderate one that is very active and troll-free. It's called Staunton Chess Sets Vintage and Reproduction Post Your Sets. I moderate another one with Duncan Pohl and others titled Chess Collectors. Also troll-free. A great collector monikered Chess Praxis moderates a forum on FIDE sets that covers all sets, boards, and clocks. There is another great site on Chess Books. Great supplements to what's offered here where the participants are committed and knowledgeable and trolls have a very short life span. If your objection to Facebook is that you don't like Big Brother watching, I get it. I don't either. But Big Brother is watching whether we are on Facebook or not.
