Fritz vs. Premium membership

I'm looking for a chess training/education aid.  Is my money better spent with software like Fritz (onetime purchase)or with a Premium membership on Chess.com (ongoing expense)?  Do they offer much of the same things or is it apples and oranges?  Thanks.

Fritz will analyze the hell out of your games, and not much else. If you are a Class A player you might want to go with Fritz, otherwise the premium membership will be much more helpful.

I have both and use ChessMentor, Tactics Trainer, and the videos on a daily basis.  Fritz I use maybe once a month.  Of course this is the view from downtown patzerville so your experience could be different.  As Ivandh posted, Fritz is mostly for analysis; it's not even that much fun to play against compared to Chessmaster.

I have Chessmaster 10, Fritz 12, AND a Diamond here. I use most of and if not ALL of the features in both programs plus the features here. You can never learn too much when it comes to chess. That's just how I see it   Laughing

You won't regret either purchase, but consider that you can get extremely good chess software (Houdini, Stockfish) for free, but the videos here are well worth the monthly fee.

Thanks to all who responded.  I did get the premium membership and I'm delighted with it.
