I'm looking for advice on a good book of openings. Something general, not very in depth about any particular sequence.
I've played a long time, but never really studied. So I don't think I'm a chess novice, but I'd prefer something that's easy to read.
Thanks all.
Seirawan's opening book + wikipedia was great for me until I broke CFC1900+.
I think that you would find the following helpful:
Winning in the Opening by John Walker
Discovering Chess Openings: Building Opening Skills from Basic Principles by John Emms
Ideas Behind the Chess Openings by Reuben Fine
