Does anybody reccommend Dan Heisman? If so which books? If not please explain why, I am a low rated player, with little OTB experience. I also just started HTRYC by Silman. Thanks for the comments and feed back.

Dan Heisman is probably one of the best chess teachers in all the times. His scientific approach in teaching and explaining chess is unique. Other than the aforementioned book (now availaible as "a guide to chess improvement" ) I suggest some other excellent works by him such as "back to basics: tactics" which is the best introducion to tactics I have ever seen. also the book "elements of positional play" is the stepstone of learning positional chess .

Start with the Novice Nooks, then comb through his website ... it's a treasure trove of useful/instructive information as well.

Dan Heisman's Back to Basics: Tactics is very good - a critical rethink of the piece values, a better definition of exactly what constitutes tactics (e.g. detailed discussion of often overlooked Counting), many more tactical motifs covered than most other tactics books, a re-look at the exchange sacrifice with the new piece values, etc. It's essential reading for any chess player, really, considering tactics are so important.

Read the award winning article The Evaluation of Material Imbalances by Larry Kaufman (http://home.comcast.net/~danheisman/Articles/evaluation_of_material_imbalance.htm) for the source of Dan Heisman's discussions on piece values.

Can't say I've read any of his other books. I think most of his Novice Nooks articles go into his books (not verbatim, but compiled and organised into a whole).
