The tiki-wiki set from Hawaii i think. Bogo had 3 of these.
Help identify chess set

This is the "gothic" chess set based on designs by the Russian artist Peter Ganine (1900-1974). These were extremely popular about 40 or 50 years ago. However, I've never seen them with red pieces before. I doubt if the pieces came with that board originally.

Similar show up on Ebay frequently. There's apparently a ceramic mold of the pieces that's quite popular judging by the frequency with which sets appear. They're usually not that expensive. Might not be an exact match but close enough to be playable. No modern "arts and crafts" currently in Ebay but surprisingly about a dozen of the original. No red, but lots of black and white. Just go to Ebay and use "Peter Ganine Chess" as your search.
Wow! Fantastic! I cannot possibly thank you enough! I was able to find pieces online. You are all awesome! Quick responses and a solution to my problem. Really, thank you greatly.
One last one, I promise. This is also a fold up board w/ pieces inside. Black and white ceramic. Sadly, 2 white pawns are missing. My father gave me his old chess sets. My favorite is the "chess-nuts" one, made of nuts and bolts.
Think I may display the red and white one (set least likely to get broken from my cat)

I don't recognize it but I doubt that it was commercially made since it lacks felt on the bottom. As I said, chess sets are a popular project in ceramic classes. I have no idea where you go to look up ceramic chess set molds but you could google it or maybe check out a local instructor. Sorry I couldn't be more help, but maybe someone else knows.
It looks like Duncan Medieval according to google and ebay. Was Duncan an actual chess set/maker? Or was the Duncan just a popular mold for ceramic makers?

I HAVE YOUR WHITE OR BEIGE GANINE PAWN AND I HAVE BLACK AND MANY MORE. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED PLEASE CONTACT ME. SEND ME AN EMAIL AR RCCOLA16OZ@YAHOO.COM
