Hello all! Ok I have 200 year old red oak boards. They are about 18 feet long 16 inches wide and 4 inches thick. They are from my great great grandfather. What I am looking for is an experienced chess maker that could make a very nice chess set that would be able to be passed down to my son and so on and so on. Want a woodworker that can create a family heirloom. Any help would be greatly welcomed. Email is mack19318@yahoo.com. thanks ahead of time!

Just wondering, why did your great great grandfather decide on some red oak boards to pass down through 200 years?

He passed along a lot of things, lots of hand made furniture and knick knacks of all sorts, old tools (ect. ect) but this stack of boards was something I related too, I build houses for a living, so was redoing my staircase and contemplating my next move in a long running chess series with my brother when I put two and two together and decided I wanted to have a nice chess set out of these very old boards. So the journey began!
