I have its one piece cousin. I also have a 2 inch squares version without the notations. I am wanting to have it look like the board used in The Queen's Gambit during the Las Vegas scene.

What are the woods?
A folding board is a good choice in case you need to grab and run in case of another hurricane. A house you can replace. Hey mortgage rates are at historic lows right now. Try to focus on the positives. But seriously, I'm sorry for your loss.
I'm sure that you wanted a board to match your Duel chess timer. Looking at the color of your pieces, that color board worked out better for you. Better contrast.

The set I have on my board is 3 1/4" Popular Staunton set from House of Chess. $50 w/shipping is one heck of a good price. They said it was Golden Rosewood on their site but the dark pieces look to be more Babul aka Acacia Wood to me. It looks really nice paired with my 2 inch Maple/Mahogany veneer board.

The board is nice! My OCD is ok with the king on e8. It isn't ok with the knight on g1.
Well unfortunately, my wife of over twenty-one happy years, passed away last September. Yep 2020 was an awful year! Also two hurricanes destroyed my home. Well since I didn’t have to buy her a Christmas gift because she’s dead, and she wasn’t around around to buy me one. And since I wanted to celebrate the end of such a tumultuous year in which I lost both a house and a spouse. I bought my own self a Christmas gift. It was the HOS folding board. Especially since that now that I’m a widower, I’ll have more time to study and play chess.
The one with the darker border was out of stock. So was the one with out notation. I would have preferred the one with out notation.
Anyway I’m using it with my HOS Championship pieces that I have had for a dozen years or more and really enjoy.
I have to say I like it. I really like it a lot. I do have a one piece wood veneer board. But I like the fold up one almost as well, if not better, because it folds. In the future the small hinges may fail but as for now they work just fine. There are some blemishes on a few squares, but that is just part of the charm of natural wood veneer, I think. Overall I’m glad I bought it. I’ve been wanting one of these for many years.
P.S. the black king is off center in e8 intentionally, just to mess with the OCD folks. 😂
