Sorry about that.  I was basically responding to a private request in a public forum.  

I don't have a whole lot to say about the sets, they are all very nice.  My favorite is the Collector but that's subjective.  I would just caution any prospective buyers that HOS has had some bad reviews here of recent production Collectors.  My sets were purchased years ago.

I used to own all three of the sets pictured.

I sold, actually gave away, the collector series because there were so many and obvious flaws in the pieces.  So, I agree with those negative reviews on this set.

I sold my Hastings Series set because I was deliberately eliminating all but one or two of my plastic sets.  I have a friend that owns this set as pictured above with the Ivory white pieces.  I had a Natural white piece colored set.  It was the color of the other two sets pictured white pieces.  My friend that owned the Ivory one actually bought my Natural set.  It's a very nice set.

I ended up keeping the Marshall Series in plastic of the three.  It has a 3.75" King I just like the way it looks taller than the others.  That is totally my opinion though.

I also kept the HOS Zurich Series set in plastic because I just like the way the bishop tops and other pieces look.

Yes I to have owned all of the HOS plastic sets and use the Marshall 3.75 inch for blitz.and have the black and natural. At 32o/z easy to transport on a plane the TSA just exray it and it's done,best in checked baggage. The 4 inh in black and ivory  and black and natural are at 64 o/z a bit heavy to transport without being in a fitted case. Bestplastic set I've had to date.

My fave is the Collector ... except some days I prefer the Marshall.  I'm funny that way.  

I haven't flown since before 9/11 so I haven't experienced the TSA.

They x-ray chess sets?  Seriously?

I have the Hastings in 4" set. Very nice feel, but I must say I like the Collectors a lot from your pictures. May have to get those one of these days. I do prefer the Natural color over Ivory/White. The bright white just hurts my eyes after awhile.

BTW, I suspect by "X-raying the set" he means that they X-ray all carry-on luggage, which is where the pieces are being carried.
