How Do You Fix or Replace Chronos Buttons?

"The Chronos is very durable. I once had my car broken into while my chess set was in there. I later found the Chronos in the woods near the parking lot (out of its protective case). One of the buttons was missing (the buttons are made to come off in the button models), but after getting a replacement button ( a couple bucks) I still use the clock today."

For those of us still struggling to program the  &$%#!(^Yell clock [ this is a hand me down clock ] could you PLEASE explain how you go about either fixing and/or replacing the button. I was under the impression that the button did NOT come off. Frown How does one go about replacing the button (after obtaining said button/s -- BTW WHERE can I obtain NEW bottons... might as well replace both) ?!?

Thank You

Try

http://chronosdealer.com/modifications.html

Although there are no remedies for you right there, you will also find the contact info of the guy who does mods. It wouldn't hurt to ask him.

I got replacement buttons from SamTimer.com

You can just pull the old button straight off and push the new button straight on. It's really simple. They are designed to come off and go on, don't worry about breaking them.

By the way, I recognize the quote and you would have gotten a lot faster response from me if you'd posted this in the thread where you found that quote.

Thank you Loomis. Someone else directed me to Sam Timer as well. Have since replaced both buttons. As it turned out  it was ONLY the button that was cracked, but NOT the stem to which the the button attaches.. Downloaded the instruction manual, and have now -- more or less -- mastered the programming of said clock. Replaced the batteries as well. What a treat: an almost near new Chronos. Black clock and ORANGE buttons. That may as a prophylactic measure to guard against it developing feet and walking out the door.

Black clock and ORANGE buttons.

Just in time for Halloween.

I often have my clock with one black button and one red button. Then I insinuate one is better than the other for a psychological edge on my opponents.
