How Many Chess Sets Do You Own?

Let's see some of your sets, cardinal46? and any other collectors as well?
Got this one today, Dubrovnik 1950, Walnut/Maple.

Four - and the civil war set, north and south, with map of the US cut into the yankees and rebels, is for sale. $25 plus shipping.

I've got three. A plastic piece of junk that cost $5 with a cardboard board and all. A nice, but toylike set, wooden set that I received for Christmas one year. And my favorite, a triple weighted tournament set with vinyl board. I just love the way the stanton pieces look. Only problem is that I left my bag in my car too many times and the glue on weights must have melted, so you can shake the pieces. I plan on getting another set of plastic pieces soon, since they are quite affordable.

strngdrvnthng, Are you finding good prices on eBay? Those are terrific looking sets. Would you ever take one to a tournament?

Thanks Z, I appreciate the positive feedback. I've been really lucky with my bids on e-bay...mostly on Jaques of London pieces and HOS boards and pieces. I have a plastic tournament set and roll-up board for "rough work," : ) and I reserve my "nice" pieces for playing at home with friends...so we can feel like guldarned millionaires when we play : ) I would consider bringing nice pieces to a tournament but I think the old school etiquette for OTB has gone the way of the White Buffallo.
The Dubrovnik pieces I got from Gregor at:

I think, 31 is the current number. I'd like to sell off a few (to finance one or two others!)
I own a number of HoS sets: Classic, Grandmaster, Pro-Line, Players, Royale. (Sometimes multiple in either different sizes or woods); One USCF alleged "Jaques" copy (similar to current Reykjavik or Spassky Fischer Commemorative); two USCF "Lardy" sets (different sizes); several Indian sets purchased on eBay or from US vendors; a couple of SAC sets; a plastic tournament set, my original Gallant Knight set from 1964, and a small Drueke analysis set; plus a few odds and ends.
45 sets, most reproductions from House of Staunton, Royal Chess Mall, and Chess Bazaar. Love the carvings, history, and beautiful woods. Cant have enough. It’s too bad I have no one to play with. In my youth played in the West Village shops that are now gone. Love my little soldiers. When I’m gone, I wonder what my daughters will do with them. Don’t get me depressed.😳🙏😥

To the OP’s question, these 32 sets are perhaps half of what I own. They go with me to youth chess tournaments that I run. One is tomorrow.
