Any thoughts on this book thinking of getting the e+chess version

I don't have it but I would highly recommend Test Your Tactical Ability by the same author.

I think they are pretty much the same book.  To OP:  it might be a little advanced for you, you might try something geared more towards your rating.  A book with repetition of the basic tactical ideas may help you more.

I'd also recommend this. It is a nice introduction to tactics with a couple of difficult examples too.
