iOS App for loading PGN file of games and reviewing/playing against an engine

I thought this would be a solved problem but apparently, the answer is not obvious. Is there an iOS app that allows one to load a PGN file of positions, review them, and play them against an engine? I've tried SmallFish, StockFish, Chess Studio, which were all recommended but they all only worked with individual PGN games (not one file with many games) or they had strange ways of loading a file of games (via iTunes or via email attachments). The Dropbox option in Chess Studio just didn't work.

I have a bunch of PGN files on my Dropbox and on my iPad drive. I just want to be able to select File->Open and select a file of games on my device and review them or play them against a computer (ie for endgame or tactics training).

Please send any suggestions. TIA.

Chess Studio (lite or pro version). It comes with 3 default ogn databases but you can load your own, play against engine, etc. I’m still learning it, but itwas less than $10 so I bought the ‘pro’ version.

Just did a quick. On IOS, I downloaded some pgn files from PGN Mentor website and Chess Studio opens them up with no problem. I only tested with Magnus Carlsen (4000 or so games) and Bishop’s opening @ 20,000 games.

Hope this helps.

And the followup is Chess Lab for the Mac (made by the same people). I just started downloading as many of the pin databases as I could and saving them on iCloud so both the Mac/IOS would have access.

Thanks, Thomas-Davie. I just tried again with Chess Studio and it does indeed do what I need. I was confused about how to get a file from my file system into Chess Studio but figured it out. For others who read this, in the iPad’s Google Drive, I select a PGN file, and then select to open it in Chess Studio. This causes Chess Studio to create a new database with all the games.

Thanks for mentioning the bit about Google Drive. I was just importing the DB’s straight from another site. I didn’t know about importation into a new DB.
